Cake Size & Portion Guide

Portion  Serving Guide for  Cakes*
This chart serves as a rough guide for selecting the appropriate size and number of tiers for your cake. The estimated number of servings is based on the industry standard cake serving size of 1" x 2" pieces, cut from a cake tier 4" high.
I know what you're thinking "one inch? "That's paper thin!". It's really not, it's about the size of a folded over peanut butter sandwich. For 99%  of people, this is a perfect size. If you happen to be among the 1% of people who are still thinking "are you kidding me?" (or your guests have a hearty appetite), then I would suggest you go with a bigger cake.
Keep in mind when ordering wedding cakes, most brides and grooms wish to save the top tier of their wedding cake for their first anniversary. Therefore, it may be necessary to adjust your total number of servings accordingly

Popular Cake Tier Combinations:

Round Cakes:
6" 8" 10" = 74 servings
8" 10" 12" = 118 servings
6" 10" 14" = 128 servings
6" 8" 10" 12" =  130 servings
8" 10" 12" 14" =  196 servings

Square Cakes:
6" 8" 10" = 100 servings
6" 9" 12" = 130 servings
8" 10" 12" = 154 servings
6" 10" 14" = 166 servings

* The number of servings listed are intended as a guide only. If cake is the only dessert and/or portions are cut larger than 1”x2”, then you will have less servings than the chart indicates. We recommend that you have a professional cut your cake. Note: If your cake is cut into pie shaped pieces, you will not have enough cake to meet your requirements.
